Choral Ensembles

The following ensembles are offered as year-long classes at Arundel High School.

Concert Choir

This choir gives students who want to learn more about singing the opportunity to do so in a supportive environment with few requirements outside of class time. Students in this choir are taught their parts during class time. The Concert Choir performs three evening concerts each year at school and travels as part of any music department trips. Beyond the three evening concerts, this choir does not have any required performances or rehearsals outside the school day. There will be occasional required sectional rehearsals during Pride Period.

Advanced Treble Choir

This intermediate choir gives sopranos and altos the opportunity to perform more advanced choral repertoire for concerts and school events. Students in this ensemble are expected to learn their parts outside of class so that class time may be used for developing a high level of musicality, blend, and ensemble unity. Part-checks are a part of students’ grade in this class. Students are occasionally expected to attend performances or rehearsals outside the school day as part of this ensemble. This ensemble travels as part of any music department trips.

Arundel Vocal Ensemble

This premiere vocal ensemble gives our most skilled musicians the opportunity to sing advanced choral repertoire and perform at a variety of events. Students in this ensemble are expected to learn their parts outside of class so that class time may be used for developing a high level of musicality, blend, and ensemble unity. Part-checks are a part of students’ grade in this class. The ensemble’s smaller size enables this group to travel to various events to represent our school as well as on all music department trips. Students are expected to attend a significant number of performances and rehearsals outside the school day as part of this ensemble.
