Arundel High School's Music program consists of over 300 musicians in various classes and programs. Our goal is to give the students opportunities to:
- challenge themselves musically
- learn to express themselves through music
- explore different musical styles
- gain an understanding and appreciation of how music can impact their lives
- build friendships and camaraderie
- be part of something bigger than themselves

MUSIC PROGRAM PARENTS- PLEASE READ!
At the Feb 18, 2026 Board of Education meeting, a budget proposal was submitted to move some money from athletics bus transportation to marching band bus transportation. The amount requested represents about 5% of Anne Arundel County's total athletic bus transportation line item. The measure was voted down for being too disruptive to the athletics programs. While some BOE members noted they supported funding for the marching bands through a separate measure, this has yet to be requested. Please watch this portion of the BOE meeting to understand what current effects this has on the county music program in terms of equitable access.
We encourage you to reach out to both the Board of Education and the County Council to voice your opinion on how music programs in our county get funded. Your voice is important. Every dollar that the county puts towards music education is a dollar less that we have to fundraise or pay out of our pockets. We appreciate your support and advocacy.
